TRP Spyre Brake callipers

Wow... I upgraded my brakes a while ago from 160/140 to 180/160 and with the promax render-r callipers my bike came with I was quite happy with the upgrade. but after changing my wheels from 6 bolt discs to Centrelock discs I discovered the TRP Spyre calliper (didn't buy them at the time, just found out they existed) I've just managed to buy some from eBay for a very good price and have done a couple of rides on them now. they are amazing!!!! so much so that I 'm thinking of going back to 160/140 the stopping power is so much greater with the spyres. (I probably won't as that would involve buying at least one more rotor (a 140 for the rear) and I'm a bit tight!) anyhow, brilliant upgrade, well worth the money. if you are on cable discs and looking to upgrade then defiantly get these first instead of the bigger rotors like I did. Hi, Once I created this blog and the idea was fresh in my mind I checked the weather and decided to do the ride last Friday (7th April) just to see if I could. :-) It was bloody hard. I almost gave up at Rhyl, but after a dose of painkillers I carried on and I'm so glad I did. The ride in June is still on, My ride on Friday was more to see if I could navigate from memory and put the easy bits from my last 2 rides together so that there was no walking along rocky beaches, riding round llandudno that I have done the last couple of times I have attempted this. I'm happy to say that I'm confident that I now have the route sorted, no strange off road sections, or silly detours. Its a hard ride, a long way. I passed a few other cyclists on the day and from the Strava flybys nobody else went as far as I did on that day. I managed to chop over 1 1/2 hours off my personal best time (I've only done the ride twice before) but with a moving average speed of well over 13mph I...

Tour To Mon

And as if by magic..... The coast to coast I was trying to arrange has died a death, Not enough interest (after an initial flurry) so I've officially knocked it on the head. So here is the 'Tour To Mon' 'Tour De Mon' is an official ride which covers 3 routes around Anglesey with a max distance of 107 miles. 'Tour To Mon' is an unofficial ride from Stretford to Anglesey, with no marshals or aid of any kind. I've done it for the last 2 years, and will do it again this year. The basic ride (which I did the first time) is 100 miles, Stretford to Anglesey (literally just over the Menai bridge, It's an amazing finish to the ride!!) or you can go a little further to a campsite of your choice (last year I did an extra 17 miles to my caravan in Rhosneigr, which wasn't quite as spectacular finish, but was a great ride) Friday 16h June No discusion, If you want to take part, let me know and I'll contact you with start location and time. It's ...
